Accuracy of Information
Public offices may revise their addresses, hours, telephone numbers, fees, and request procedures with little notice. Record databases also change from day to day. Although pages are maintained with care, no promise is made that every detail remains correct. Confirm current requirements with the responsible office before traveling to a counter or paying a fee.
An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
A booking or arrest does not establish guilt. Prosecutors may decline, change, or reduce charges, and courts may dismiss a count or resolve it in favor of the accused. A booking entry alone does not reveal the outcome. Later amendment, sealing, or expungement can also make an older copy inaccurate. Any conclusion should wait until the current disposition is checked with the originating court, Sheriff's records staff, or Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification.
A located record is a starting source, not a judgment. Its custodian alone can verify the current contents and whether the material remains available to the public.

Confirm a court date, warrant, custody status, registry entry, or other material fact with the agency maintaining that record, such as the Sheriff, criminal court, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, or Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. Only the issuing custodian can provide an official or certified copy.
